AlphaWeb truly started at the peak of Napster in 2000, before it was shut down in 2001. The idea of sharing files and compute among a trusted, decentralized network was always the goal.
After multiple attempts across different infrastructures over the last nine years, Apple MLX was the first to bring it together following several failures. Orion was founded with the goal of using the new MLX infrastructure along with a simple UX for being the data scientist on model development.
AlphaWeb brings the power of a data center to a company that has already spent money on the latest Apple hardware, truly building sovereign intelligence that augments their workers without fear of replacement. In the coming months, we will have a complete marketplace for organizations that want to lease their own built models to help newer businesses in their sector.
